Anita B. (“Bea”) Doll of St. Marys, West Virginia, passed away at the Heritage of St. Marys on February 7, 2026, after a brief but relentless succession of illnesses.
Rock solid in her Christian faith, she was devout and dedicated to the Lord. Before advanced age grounded her, she attended the Paden City Church of God and had been a member of the Tyler River of Life Pentecostal Church of God.
Like her mother and sisters, Bea was a talented quilter and crafter, who could quilt, knit, crochet, and even tat. Not only did she make colorful and neatly sewn quilts for family members, but she created quilts for others seeking a unique, hand-made keepsake. Her quilts are owned by residents of West Virginia, Ohio, Illinois, Florida, Wisconsin, and California, including a collector of Elvis Presley memorabilia who requested she make an Elvis-themed quilt.
Bea was born on Pratts Run in Tyler County, West Virginia, on March 15, 1931, the daughter of Earl and Garnet Seckman Stubbs. She is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne S. Doll, and her siblings Wilma George, Frances Hart, Leo Stubbs, Mona Cumberledge, and Howard Stubbs. She is survived by her daughter, Susan M. Doll, brother Jim Stubbs, brother-in-law Lester George, and sisters-in-law Mary Catherine Stubbs and Nelda Stubbs. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom she loved and appreciated.
Visitation will be on Saturday, February 14 from 4-8pm at the Myers Funeral Home in Sistersville. Services will be at the Myers Funeral Home on Monday, February 16 at 11:00am with Pastor Louise Baker officiating.
Flowers are traditional and welcome, but for those who prefer to offer a memorial contribution or donation rather than flowers, please donate to the Olive Branch Animal Rescue & Refuge Center in Sistersville.
