Barbara Sue Stokes

Barbara Sue Stokes, 62, of Sistersville, passed away Thursday, November 7, 2024, at WVU Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, West Virginia.

She was born December 21, 1961, a daughter of James and Phyllis Owens Hickman.

Barbara was a retired cook from Tyler County Schools. She was a kind person who had a love for all living things. Barbara enjoyed the beauty of hummingbirds, butterflies, and flowers and had a passion for gardening.

Those remaining to cherish her memory include her parents; husband, Donald Britt Stokes; two sons, Jason Stokes and Zachary Stokes; grandchildren, Gage Stokes, Iris Stokes, and Kylan Stokes; brother, Oliver Hickman (Elizabeth); sister, Sherry Barbiaux (David); and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one brother, James Hickman.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at Myers Funeral Home, Sistersville, with Pastor Darrell Mayfield officiating. Services will conclude with interment in Greenwood Cemetery. The Stokes family will receive friends 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
