Bernadine Deloris “Dee” Walker of Bearsville, age 91, passed away, Tuesday July 14, 2026, while at a brief stay at Sistersville Center. She lived alone in her home until she was almost 91, which she was very proud of.
She was born March 28, 1935 at Wick, WV to the late Zola Anderson Collins and Tom Collins.
She is survived by her beloved daughters, Joan (Lex) Boley of Hebron, WV, Kathy (Gary) Hall of Bearsville, WV, Georgia (Bernard) Bland of Paden City, WV, and step-daughter, Sue (Don) Hiatt of Lexington, NC. Granddaughters; Annie Hall (JR) Erwin, Ashleigh Bland (Curtis) Northcraft and Jessica (Joe DiCarlo) Bland. Half-brother, Marvin Joe (Sandy) Lowther. Great Grandchildren, Blake Erwin, Colton Northcraft and Kensi Northcraft, all of whom she adored. Several nephews and nieces and great nephews and great nieces who were all so dear to her and loved her like a second mother. She also had a network of friends that spanned across our area and several states.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ted Walker, infant son Ted Walker, Jr. Sister Goldanna Berniece Dawson. Step children, Pete Walker, Juanita Scott, Doris Keene and Dolly West.
Dee as she was affectionately known to her late husband and all who loved her, was also known for her bread baking and wonderful home cooking. She took bread and food to others in need and always checked on friends and family. She loved keeping in touch with people and lived for cooking meals in her home to feed everyone. She worked for several years as an in-home caregiver for elderly people in the community.
Viewing will be Sunday, July 19, 2026 from 5:00 PM-7:00PM and Monday July 20, 2026 from 12:00PM until the time of service at 2:00 PM at Myers Funeral Home, Sistersville, WV. Burial will be in Wick Cemetery next to her infant son.
