Donna Lee Johnson

Donna Lee Johnson, 80, of Friendly, WV passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 5, 2026, surrounded by loving family, at Sistersville General Hospital.

A daughter of the late Wiley and Alta Danser, Donna was born September 9, 1945, in Baltimore, Maryland. Donna lived a life full of love, creativity, and dedication to her family and community. She was a talented hairdresser, having co-owned and operated the Style Center Salon in Sistersville, WV, where she worked passionately for many years. Her clients were more than just customers; they were friends who cherished her warmth and artistic flair.

Donna had a zest for life and a variety of interests. She loved shopping on QVC, watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, and was an avid card player, especially enjoying games of Euchre. Her creativity shone through in her love for flowers, hummingbirds, and painting. Above all, Donna fiercely loved her family, who were the center of her world.

She is survived by her devoted sons, Alan Johnson (Stephanie) and Eric Johnson (Lynn); her cherished grandchildren, Gavin Johnson (Hannah), Alexa Gray (David), Haley Johnson, Cole Johnson, Cooper Johnson, Zachery Haney, and Wesley Haney; and her precious great-grandchildren, Waylon Johnson and Blake Gray. Donna also leaves behind her loving siblings, Jeannie Floyd (Jack) and Richard Danser (Darlene); brothers-in-law, Dana Johnson and Rodney Johnson; extended family members, Stacey Brooks and Stacy Johnson; and special friends, Tom and Patty Manion. She will be fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews.

Donna was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bernard "Bernie" Dale Johnson; her parents, Wiley Danser Jr. and Alta Winifred Danser; and her sister, Sandy Furbee.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the Sistersville General Hospital and Journey Hospice nurses for their compassionate care.

A memorial service to celebrate Donna's life will be held Saturday, August 15, 2026, with visiting beginning at 12:00 PM until time of service at 1:00 PM First Baptist Church in Sistersville, WV, with Pastor Darrell Mayfield officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the National Cancer Association or the American Heart Association, causes that were close to Donna's heart.

Donna Johnson will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
