Hartsel "Bud" Light

Hartsel “Bud” Light, 90, of New Martinsville, WV, passed away on June 15, 2025 at Sistersville Center.

He was born on October 23, 1934, in Sistersville, WV, a son of the late Earnest Light and Mary Louise Kimble Light.

Bud was a United States Navy veteran and he retired from Ormet as a pipefitter. He was a member of the Sistersville VFW Post #6327, Sistersville American Legion Post #67 and the New Martinsville Moose Lodge #931. He attended Moose conventions all across the United States and played cards every day at 11:00 am at the Moose Lodge.

He is survived by his son, Barry (Barb Huggins) Light of New Martinsville, WV; sister, Sally Smith of Streetsboro, OH; grandchildren, Lacey Ryan and Jacob Ryan and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Hartsel Buddy Light, Jr.; daughter, Beth Light and sisters, Mary Jane Light Starkey and Nancy Light Long.

Visitation will be on Thursday, June 19, 2025 from 12:00 pm until time of funeral service at 2:00 pm with Pastor Darrell Mayfield officiating. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery with full military rites.
