James "Jim" Barnhart

James “Jim” Barnhart, 80, of Sistersville, WV, passed away on May 18, 2024 at home.

He was born August 16, 1943, in Sistersville, WV, a son of the late Harvey Frank Barnhart and Olive Catherine Chute Barnhart.

Jim worked for the City of Sistersville for several years and retired as a Sanitation Driver.  He loved to hunt, work on vehicles and spend time with his grandbabies.

He is survived by his sons, Jimmy (Kim) Barnhart of Ravenswood, WV and Randy (Caroleanne) Barnhart of New Martinsville, WV; daughters, Tammy (Charles) Williamson of Paden City, WV and Melissa (Gary) Shepard of Sistersville; step-children, William, Terry, Larry and Roberta; grandchildren, Leanne Barnhart, Skylar Barnhart, Sean Staple, Billy Morgan, Jamie Barnhart, Mindy Williamson, Charles Williamson, Jesse Williamson, Lacie (Sam) Pratt, Savannah Wright, Dakota Wright, Sierra (Levi) Underwood, Destiny Barnhart, Jordan Barnhart, Paris Barnhart, Jaden Williams and Steven Williams; sister, Sylvia Barnhart and several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Becky Barnhart; brother, Charles Little; several half-siblings; wife, Mary Lynn McLaughlin and ex-wife and best-friend, Mary Lou Barnhart.

There will be a memorial service for Jim at a later date.
