James "Jim" Russell Mayes

James “Jim” Russell Mayes, 85, of Sistersville, WV went to be with the Lord Tuesday, May 10, 2026 at Moundsville Healthcare Center. He was born September 24, 1940 in Paden City, WV to the late Ralph E. and Adele E. Benner Mayes Railing.

Jim was an avid hunter and gunsmith. He also enjoyed woodworking, with a lot of his own furniture being handmade by him. He was a giving person, and was known for taking flowers from his garden to his neighbors.

Left to cherish his memory include his sister, Diane Elizabeth Hays; nephew, Joseph C. Hays; and niece, Susan Diane Hays- Wright.

In honoring Jim’s wishes, there will be no services.
