Nila Rae Still Goudy, 70, of Sistersville, WV, passed away at Marietta Memorial Hospital on June 5, 2023, after an unexpected illness.
Nila was born in Sistersville, WV on September 12, 1952 a daughter of the late Catherine “Katy” Still Amos and Cleatus L. Still.
She was a loving wife, a devoted daughter, a trusted sister, a proud mother, an awesome Mammy to her grandchildren, and a friend to many. Nila was a lover of genealogy, or what she called “digging up bones”. She also loved graveyard tromping, drinking coffee, and her family. Some of her other pastimes included watching Pickers, playing Words with Friends, and sharing her “mindless memories” on Facebook.
She is survived by her daughters, Vicki (Richard) Day, Erin Goudy and Meredith Goudy; sisters Susan (Mick) Price and Kitty Knowlton; sisters-in-law, Joann (Larry) Thomas, Cathy (Bob) Harman and Anna Powell; step-siblings Bud (Kathy) Amos, Rob (Barb) Amos and Edna “Sis” (Leroy) Travis, and her grandchildren, Stephen, Gauge and Elijah Day, India, Torie and Timothy Robinson, as well as her many kinfolk and her honorary son, Adam Alderman (J.C.).
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband Victor Goudy; brothers Larry and Tim Still, stepdad Ed Amos, and brothers-in-law, Gary Powell and Rick Knowlton.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 8, 2023 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Myers Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Friday, June 9, 2023 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
