Shirley Jean Davis

Shirley Jean Davis, 78, of Sistersville, WV, previously of Headland, AL, passed away peacefully May 29, 2026, at her residence, surrounded by loving family, and with the compassionate care of Journey Hospice.

One of 10 children, Shirley was born July 10, 1947, in Henry County, Alabama, to the late Elbert Ray Adams and Meadie Smothers Adams.

Shirley dedicated her life to her family and home, creating a warm and loving environment for all who knew her. Her gentle spirit and kind heart left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She enjoyed fishing, loved animals, never said no to candy or chocolate, but most importantly, she loved and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren the most.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of over 25 years, James Clayton Davis; daughter, Lynn Spann; as well as, her brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Pamela Bolen (Russell) and Sherry Davidson (Gavin); son, Anthony Spann; sister, Inez Hoar (Jerry); grandchildren, Alex Arnold (Sabrina), Chelsey Arnold (Justin), Justin Spann, Dalton Spann, Steven Miller, Katherine Miller; as well as, several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Myers Funeral Home, where a private cremation will take place. Myers Funeral Home is honored to serve Shirley's family.
