October 15, 1931 - February 4, 2012

Lane F. Ebert, 80, of Sistersville, WV passed away February 4, 2012 at his residence. He was born October 15, 1931 in New Martinsville, WV a son of the late Elmer Francis and Janye Margaret Postlewait Ebert. He was a US Army Veteran, a member of the Sistersville VFW Post 6327 and self-employed construction contractor. He is survived by 12 children, Ronald (Sally) Ebert of Shirley, WV, Tammie (Gary) Willey of New Martinsville, WV, Tonyia (Alvin) Henderson of New Martinsville, WV, Teresa Ebert of Hurricane, WV, Ruthy (Bill) Shreves of Sistersville, WV, Kevin (fiancée Shelley) Ebert of Friendly, WV, Jayne (Jerry) Richardson of Sistersville, WV, Matt (Anastasia) Ebert of New Martinsville, WV, Rodney (Brandi) Ebert of Sistersville, WV, Michael (Michele) Ebert of Friendly, WV, Melissa (Bill) Ebert of Friendly, WV, and Jennifer (Dave) Dieterich of Sistersville, WV. He is also survived by 40 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, five siblings, Dean (Mildred) Ebert, Lucille Stoneking, Alice Hammel, Nelda Walton (Ed), Kenneth (Linda) Ebert all of New Martinsville, WV, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Goddard, brother Gary Lee Ebert, an infant brother and sister and one grandson, Thomas Edward Tennant, Jr. Services will be held Wednesday, February 8 at 1 PM at Myers Funeral Home, Sistersville, WV with Rev. Bill Dawson officiating. Interment will follow at Paden Memorial Gardens, Paden City, WV with military graveside rites. Calling hours will be on Tuesday from 2 to 9 PM and on Wednesday from 11 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
